NORTH WEST RAIL LINK| UPDATE | NORWEST STATION | BELLA VISTA STATION | TUNNEL BORING MACHINE ELIZABETH

Elizabeth is slowly but surely making her way towards the Norwest Station site, after she started the journey last month starting at Bella Vista. Elizabeth has tunnelled more than 520 m and is currently located approximately 20 m underground near 21-23 Lexington Drive, Bella Vista. With everything going to plan Elizabeth should be completing approximately 120 m a week on average.

Other great news is that the second tunnel boring machine, Florence is currently being assembled onsite. Once Florence is completed it will start excavating the city-bound tunnel from Bella Vista.

Since our last post the excavation of Norwest Station is getting extremely close to completion. Two arched cavities at the eastern end of the station are continuing being constructed. These two arched cavities are were Elizabeth and Florence will set off to head towards Showground Station. The Western end of the station has recently been completed and lined with concrete, which now allows Elizabeth and Florence access into Norwest Station.

A water mister has recently been installed onsite to work alongside other dust preventive measures which consist of sprinklers, water carts, wheel washing and street sweepers.
